I am glad to announce that my Chinese face changing magic trailer is finally available for you to enjoy!
The Chinese Face Changing Magic, in other words, Bian Lian, is not something that general public in Australia can approach at anytime they want since it takes great effort with practice, time, and patience to get the right skills to perform this art also in Australia, as far as I concerned, there are only few people who are able to perform this art. I actually have no idea of anyone else who is able to perform this art in Sydney besides me.
The Chinese Face Changing Magic is basically from Si-Chun province in China. They have their own opera-type of show called Si-Chun Opera. The show consists of mainly Chinese classic dancing, shadow graphy performances with Chinese old tale story or Chinese war heroes’ histories, The Chinese Face Changing Magic (Bian Lian), and so on over Chinese classic music. But the Chinese Face Changing Magic is the most popular mystery to watch.
Basically the magic is about changing faces, the masks. And each masks have different stories, which means that each masks have different faces; smile, sleepy, drunken, angry, happy, scary, even non-human face. So the performer will have to execute different movements in order to express to the audience with different stories about them. And audience will understand what each different masks are trying tell them. My personal favourites are monkey move and drunken-fist move 🙂
Here is the recent trailer of my the Chinese Face Changing Performance. I hope you enjoy it.
